Greg Jefferys Hepatitis C blog deals with all the issues associated with hepatitis C
Often people delay treating their Hep C. They delay Hep C treatment for lots of different reasons.
Sometimes they want to try to cure their Hep C with herbal treatments or vitamins or diet. I tried that, I know lots of people who tried that… no-one succeeded.
Some worry about side effects from the Hep C treatment, but the side effects of having Hepatitis C are much worse than any side effects from Hep C treatment.
Sometimes it is a shortage of money, but if you die because you did not spend a few hundred dollars there is no sense in that!
Sometimes they just think that there is no urgency… they have had Hep C for ten years or 20 years so another year or two will not matter.
Wrong!
The fact is that one percent of all people infected by Hepatitis C will die from its effects each year. Some of those will have had Hep C 20 or 30 years and some will have had it five or ten years. The thing is you never know and you don’t get much warning either.
I was fit and healthy as an ox for 40 years with Hep C and then one day I went down so fast and so suddenly that it looked like I would die. Obviously I didn’t but let me tell you my doctors thought I had liver cancer and were pretty sure I would die.
The longer you wait to begin treatment, the longer the virus has to cause life-threatening damage to your liver. Without treatment, a person with hepatitis C-related liver damage, such as liver scarring is very likely to die from liver cancer, liver failure, or other related causes
Liver failure from Hepatitis C can be very sudden.
In the last two weeks, I have had two very tragic emails that confirmed this. Two families who had been delaying treatment because of financial issues finally got around to ordering medication from me. One family was buying medication for their mother and the other was buying for a brother. They finally got motivated to get treatment because their loved ones suddenly became very sick.
In both cases, I was about to send them the treatment of Sofosbuvir + Daclatasvir when I received emails telling me that their loved one had died.
I will share one of the email threads with you, changing some details to protect the identity of the people involved:

Hi Patrica
Thanks for writing to me on your brother’s behalf.
I do send Hep C medicines to the Philippines regularly.
The cost is 18,000 pesos including shipping and handling and insurance.
However, this is for Sofosbuvir + Daclatasvir.
Sofosbuvir taken alone is not the best treatment for hep C. It gives about an 85% cure rate. If you add Daclatasvir the cure rate becomes above 98%.
Please let me know if you have any questions
best wishes

Hi Greg
Thank you for your response.
I would like to ask also how many tablets are there in this price? Do you deliver in the Philippines, how long will it take? And how is the payment process?
Patrica

HI Patrica
This is for 84 days of treatment. It is 84 pills of Sofosbuvir and 84 pills of Daclatasvir. This treatment is the best treatment for all forms of Hepatitis C unless the patient has cirrhosis of the liver, in which case it would be better to do an extra 28 days treatment to be certain of a cure.
Delivery is by express airmail and usually takes 10 to 14 days but because the coronavirus has affected international air traffic delivery is taking longer and can be as long as 28 days
best wishes

Hi! Mr. Greg,
Greetings from the Philippines!
It took me days before I can reply to you. We have to wait for the confirmation of the doctor of my brother whether he can take the medicines we are trying to get through your help.
Now that we got his doctor’s approval, I would like to ask for the following information that will assist us in purchasing the medicines:
2. What are the PAYMENT DETAILS?
Sincerely yours,
Patricia

Hi Patrica
I can deliver wherever there is a mail service. So far I have not had anywhere in the Philippines where I have not been able to deliver.
You can pay by bank transfer or card
Personally I prefer bank transfer but I understand that this is sometimes difficult.
If you let me know how you would like to pay I can send you the correct details.
The total cost for 12 weeks of Sofosbuvir + Daclatasvir is 18,000 pesos. For 16 weeks the total cost is 24,000 pesos.
I hope this answers your questions
best wishes

Dear Mr. Greg,
My brother did not make it. He passed away today.
Our family appreciates your journey with us. God bless all your efforts.
We could not be with him when he died because of the COVID 19 situation and travel restrictions brought by the pandemic.
Thank you so much for trying to help us Mr. Greg.
He is survived by his wife and 2 children. A four-year-old girl and a one-year-old son.
After our period of mourning my brother and I will write about our journey with you and your wonderful work in helping those who are with Hep C.
My Brother may not have survived but knowing someone like you even just through e-mail is a big encouragement for people like us who can not afford expensive medicines.
Again, maraming salamat po!
Patricia
As you can imagine it was very sad for me to read this news because here is a young man, in his late 20’s with a wife and young family who died simply because he did not start his Hep C treatment soon enough.
There is almost no doubt that if Patricia’s brother had started treatment in February or March he would be alive now and on the way to a complete recovery.
I have personally been involved with people who were in hospital dying from the effects of Hep C who have started treatment and then made a full recovery.
The liver is an amazing organ and will heal very quickly once the Hep C is gone.
So that is why when I get correspondence like the thread below, that I push quite hard for people to start treatment as soon as possible.
No doubt some people will think I push people to start their treatment so I can sell them some medication but it is not true.
I care first and foremost about people removing Hepatitis C from their body and their life.
If money is a problem for people I will supply treatment at my cost price, even below my cost price, if needed.
So read this thread from a Facebook Messenger conversation I had today… do you think I am pushing too hard given the two tragic deaths from Hep C I have seen in the last two weeks?
Again I have changed the names for privacy reasons:

Hi Greg – I was told on the hep c board to reach out to you about treatment options. My husband has been putting off treatment for 5 + years and feels worse everyday. He works full time – does not have insurance and we have 3 young kids. He was retested about 3 years ago at which point he was told he really needed to get insurance or get treated for it.

HI Mary
I can certainly help you and your husband with this. Can you tell me if you know what genotype of Hep C he has?
8:14 PM
Mary
He said he believes it is genotype 1.
9:47 PM
Greg
Okay So that is good G1 can be treated with either Harvoni OR Sofosbuvir and Daclatasvir (Sovaldi and Daklinza) Either would be fine

I saw in the email where you said Hepatitis C treatment usually runs around 0. Is this something you do year round? It may be September before we have the excess funding to pay that.
Greg
Yes I have been doing this since I was cured myself in 2015

Either way he will be very happy to see he has a much cheaper option available. He wants to live to watch his children grow. Thank you so much!
Greg
If money is an issue I have a policy of removing my profit margin
People are more important than money
$350 would be the price
Mary
I’m sure there is someone out there that may need financial help more than us. It just takes us a bit with having to handle the kids needs first.
Let me speak with him and we’ll get you a time frame. We are also waiting on our taxes to come back still so maybe that will happen first! Thank you again for this opportunity.
